







All generation spirit teams must:

Be affiliated with a middle school, high school, or college in the United States.

Be approved by the school's administration.

Select an adult at the school who will advise team captains, facilitate the team’s mission of creating a more inclusive and spirited environment at the school, and serve as a chaperone at practices, activities, meetings, and events.

Be comprised of a minimum of four students who self-identify as having a disability and six students who self-identify as not having a disability. These students comprise a dedicated team.

Select at least two students to serve as 1st and 2nd captain. These students will organize and run meetings/practices and communicate with teammates and school personnel.

Meet/practice a minimum of two times per week for 45 minutes. All team members are expected to be at every practice.

Appear at a minimum of 10 events throughout the school year (Generation Spirit teams are strongly encouraged to identify and support teams or groups that are underrepresented by existing spirit squads).

Wear matching team apparel - in school colors - for spirit raising activities

Participate in Generation Spirit's free on-site training as the team is being formed and, at a minimum, every three years thereafter. Please note: Generation Spirit is currently offering virtual training to all teams.

Fill out and submit an annual online survey and provide Generation Spirit with contact information for current captains and advisers.
